Endangered
Parrot Trust, Inc. was founded in 1996 as a not for profit
corporation. A perpetual Trust dedicated to the rescue, breeding
and emergency short & long term boarding of all Parrots
(Psitticine Species). By providing a staff and facilities
to accept, care for and breed birds we are striving to preserve
not just those species considered rare in American Aviculture
but those that today are common in captivity. Birds that won’t
exist in the wild during the next century due to habitat destruction,
pesticides and natural disasters.
We
make it our policy to accept any and all birds, by donation,
for which suitable care and housing can be provided. Public
institutions recognizably can and do provide a service by
taking in pets and other wildlife from private individuals.
At Endangered Parrot Trust we provide an alternative to these
institutions by supplying necessary housing of what are usually
considered common species. We labor to assist Aviculturists
and Zoos as well as Government agencies in such a way as to
provide facilities for propagation purposes. Information obtained
as procedures and techniques develop become educational tools
to support Avicultural and Zoological interests for use in
propagation operations.
We are a 501(c)-3 Charitable Organization registered with
The Internal Revenue Service. It is the objective of the foundation
to become self-sustaining through grants and donations from
institutions and other organizations. As well as from private
individuals and revenues created by the production and sale
of progeny of common parrots produced at E.P.T., Inc.
Endangered
Parrot Trust is a volunteer not for profit Florida Corporation
qualifying under I.R.S. Section 501(c)-3 Organizations whose
principal place of business is in Ocala, Florida. The Trust
exists for the sole purpose of increasing and diversifying
the genetic pool of various endangered parrots by captive
propagation. Through newsletters and meetings The Trust strives
to make scientific propagation research available to the public,
to increase awareness of the plight of endangered parrots
and to enable bird owners to utilize the latest scientific
research in breeding their own parrots. Additionally we are
the only true perpetual care rescue center in the United States
for unwanted, abused or neglected parrots and have been designed
for emergency short and long term boarding of birds.
Donations
of birds, equipment or monies are tax-deductible. All pet
birds The Trust receives are maintained in perpetuity and
none can be sold, traded or adopted out. Only through support
and generous contributions from people like you could The
Trust continue to exist. We would greatly appreciate your
financial help and proudly strive towards the peace and well-being
of our feathered friends!
